About the event

šŸ“š Brains & Books | April

What happens when childhood changes?

April’s read is The Anxious GenerationĀ by Jonathan Haidt, an exploration of how childhood has shifted over the past several decades—and what those changes may mean for the generation growing up today.

Haidt examines the rise of smartphones and social media alongside the decline of independent play, face-to-face interaction, and childhood autonomy. He connects those changes to larger conversations surrounding mental health, resilience, relationships, and how young people experience the world.

For Brains & Books, we'll look beyond the technology debate and talk about the bigger questions the book raises:

How much independence do young people need to grow? What role should technology play in childhood? How do we build resilience while still providing support? And what should leaders understand about the generation coming behind us?
