Walker studied some of the most successful teams in sports history looking for the secret behind their sustained success. His research led him somewhere unexpected: their captains.

Through their stories, The Captain Class challenges many of our traditional ideas about what leadership is supposed to look like. We'll explore leadership through service, persistence, communication, courage, teamwork, and the willingness to do the work that doesn't always receive recognition.

For Brains & Books, we'll take those lessons beyond sports and ask: What does great leadership actually look like in our own teams, organizations, workplaces, and communities?
