Susan Wortman

Susan works for the non-profit Semper Fi and America’s Fund. She helps to provide one-on-one case management, connection, and lifetime support for our nation’s critically wounded, ill, and injured service members, veterans, and military families from all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces. She has worked for the Fund since 2012. Additionally, she has been involved for
the past 30 years with Marine and command family support programs.

Latoya Scott

Latoya has over 12 years of experience in event planning, business development, website development, publishing, and graphic design. Through her virtual business coach, and development program she has helped over 500 small businesses and corporations define their goals, solidify their brands, and introduce social media marketing. Through her other enterprises, Latoya has helped over 1,500 individuals engage in self-esteem, character-building, and industry training.

Vice President

Stephanie Singleton

After spending 7 years as a CNN producer, Stephanie decided to leave the newsroom chaos for a life of wellness. This led her to Rishikesh, India to study traditional practices of yoga. Through her business, Prana Wellness, she now educates, inspires, and improves lives, from individuals, to companies, to military and medical communities. Stephanie is an RYT 500hr yoga instructor, Clinical Yoga Therapist Rx, and a NASM Behavior Change Specialist. Stephanie has been called upon as an expert in wellness to speak at major conventions and organizations. She has been featured in Essence, BNC News, and most recently, on the cover of “Yoga for Dummies.”

Administrative Director

Marion Strelke

Marion has been married for 22 years and had the pleasure of being stationed in many amazing places because of the military. She was a Key Wife and through this role was able to actively support the Marine unit. She has also had involvement in the Family Readiness Program to assist in addressing the needs of deployments and frontline readiness. She was also involved and contributed to the L.I.N.K.S program. She was a Human Resources professional where she was able to leverage her extensive volunteer experience to help her in this career. In Okinawa, she enjoys adventuring with her two teenage sons. She remains heavily engaged in community service on the island. She volunteers with the MOSCO Auction and us here at OLS. Her commitment to supporting military families is steadfast and admirable, and she ensures to continue this work no matter where military moves take her.

Treasurer

Bunny Fang

Bunny is currently the Financial Officer for N.I.O.S.C., the North Island Okinawa Spouses’  Club. She has lived in Okinawa since 2021. Since her arrival she have been active and contributed to various organizations. She is the co-founder of Okinawa Fairy Godmothers, a group of volunteers who provide meals sent from their loved ones stateside. She assists in financial management through board positions as treasurer for both OLS and the North Island Okinawa Spouses’ Club. She also assists Kadena Legal Center as a tax preparer through their VITA program. Additionally, she serves as a Family Readiness Command Team Advisor (FRCTA) for two units on Camp Hansen. She utilizes administrative, financial management skills and blends them with her commitment to serving the community wherever she is stationed.

Financial Development Officer

Ashleigh Swehosky

Ashleigh is a mother of 2 and has been in Okinawa since 2022. She quickly began getting involved so that she could meet new people and learn more about everything to do in Okinawa. She served on the PTO Board at her daughters school, on the board of the Okinawa Enlisted Spouses’ Club and is a member of Stroller Warriors Okinawa. She is known to many as a serial volunteer and someone who is always available as a helping hand and listening ear. She attended the OLS in Spring of 2023, then facilitated at the Spring 2024 seminar. Her multiple board positions have allowed her to grow as a person and a leader. She is very excited to be apart of the OLS board this year as the Financial Development Officer.

Public Relations Director

Rachael Tipton

Rachael used to be in the corporate professional world and loved her previous career where she excelled and was promoted quickly. Okinawa was her first PCS, and a rough transition. However, upon coming to Okinawa and having to leave her career, she has been on a path of finding her passion. She is on her second consecutive term on the PTO board at her sons school, is a full time student studying psychology, and is now the PR director for OLS. After attending the spring seminar, she found herself highly motivated to get involved with our organization and pursue her passion for psychology. She hopes to eventually achieve a masters degree and become a school psychologist to assist children, parents and teachers in navigating the waters of mental health.

Parliamentarian

Isabel McNeish

With over nine years of dedicated service as a military spouse advocate and mentor, Isabel McNeish has a legal background and is currently working as a Career Advisor here in Okinawa, advising military spouses and transitioning service members on their transition.

As a mentor and advocate, Isabel has demonstrated a passion for volunteerism, exemplified by her roles as a L.I.N.K.S. Mentor and her leadership in the Hiring Our Heroes Military Spouses Professional Network, in San Diego and Okinawa, where she has facilitated invaluable connections between military spouses and local employment resources, fostering career growth and community cohesion. Isabel is a Marine Corps spouse of 12 years and has been in Okinawa since 2020.

**All positions on the Executive Board and the Leadership Team must be filled by OLS, LES, DLS, or CLLS graduates with the exception of Advisor (appointed), and Advocate (appointed). A non-graduate may serve as Probationary Treasurer in the event that a qualified graduate is unavailable to serve as Treasurer. The Probationary Treasurer must meet the qualified skills listed in the position description and will retain a non-voting status until they complete the seminar. After graduation, the Probationary Treasurer may become Treasurer with full voting rights via special election
